Picasso Museum in Barcelona (with video) : Tips for Free entry, Inside Video, Opening hours & all you need to know
January 22, 2019The Picasso Museum Barcelona is one of the most visited sights of the city of Barcelona. Pablo Picasso - a great artist of modern era doesn’t need any introduction. This arts museum in Barcelona is one of three museums (next to the Picasso Museum in Malaga and in Paris) named after and dedicated to this Spanish painter.
The Picasso museum was opened in 1963, beautifully housed in one of the old medieval palaces in the La Ribera district. The museum has three floors and exhibits over 4300 works of art by Pablo Picasso.
The permanent collection is organized into three sections: painting/drawing, engraving, and ceramics. These cover principally the whole of Picasso’s artistic life, such as his early years at Málaga (1890–97), the training period at Barcelona (1897–1901), his golden period, often referred as “Picasso’s Blue Period” (1901–04), and the rest till 1957.
